Tokyo 4K - Skyline Expressway Sunrise - Rainbow Bridge - Driving Downtown

Thursday morning sunrise drive around the colorful Tokyo Drift style freeway (popularized in movies and TV shows about Japan) and across Tokyos popular Rainbow Bridge (similar to New York Citys Brooklyn Bridge or San Franciscos Golden Gate Bridge). I filmed a sunset version in 60FPS but the quality was not good enough so I redid it early next morning with my original camera setup. Enjoy!
The Rainbow Bridge (レインボーブリッジ ) is a suspension bridge crossing northern Tokyo Bay in Tokyo, Japan. It was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, with construction starting in 1987 and completed in 1993. The bridge is 798 metres (2,618 ft) long with a main span of 580 metres (1,903 ft).

The towers supporting the bridge are white in color, designed to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo seen from Odaiba. There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day.

Shuto Expressway (首都高速道路 Shuto Kōsoku-dōro, lit. «Metropolitan Expressway», where shuto also means «capital city») is a network of toll expressways in the Greater Tokyo Area of Japan. It is operated and maintained by the Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited (首都高速道路株式会社 Shuto Kōsoku-dōro Kabushiki-gaisha).

Most routes are grade-separated (elevated roads or tunnels) and central routes have many sharp curves and multi-lane merges which require caution to drive safely. The speed limit is 60 km/h on most routes, but 80 km/h on the Bayshore Route, and 50 km/h on the Inner Circular Route.

All trips on the expressway require a toll be paid. As of 2014, the cash toll for a standard-size car is ¥1300 regardless of distance travelled. Vehicles using the ETC toll-collection system pay a distance-based toll ranging from ¥300 to ¥1300 for ordinary vehicles (see toll price) – in some cases substantially less than the previous fixed-rate toll. Lower cash rates exist for certain radial routes (where there are only a few kilometers of expressway remaining) and ETC users have various time-of-day discounts. For large vehicles, the toll is doubled.

Tokyo, (東京 Tōkyō, ˈtoʊkioʊ) officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都 Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan. As of 2018, the Greater Tokyo Area ranked as the most populous metropolitan area in the world. The urban area houses the seat of the Emperor of Japan, of the Japanese government and of the National Diet. Tokyo is often referred to as a city but is officially known and governed as a «metropolitan prefecture», which differs from and combines elements of a city and a prefecture, a characteristic unique to Tokyo.

The prefecture is part of the worlds most populous metropolitan area called the Greater Tokyo Area with over 40 million people and the worlds largest urban agglomeration economy. The 23 Special Wards of Tokyo were formerly Tokyo City. The latest estimate in 2019 shows the growing population of Tokyo with 13.9 million people, with the special wards 9.6 million, the Tama area 4.2 million, and the Islands 25,147. As of 2011, Tokyo hosted 51 of the Fortune Global 500 companies, the highest number of any city in the world at that time. Tokyo ranked third (twice) in the International Financial Centres Development Index. The city is home to various television networks such as Fuji TV, Tokyo MX, TV Tokyo, TV Asahi, Nippon Television, NHK and the Tokyo Broadcasting System.

Tokyo ranks first in the Global Economic Power Index and third in the Global Cities Index. The GaWCs 2018 inventory classified Tokyo as an alpha world city  – and as of 2014 TripAdvisors World City Survey ranked Tokyo first in its «Best overall experience» category (the city also ranked first in the following categories: «helpfulness of locals», «nightlife», «shopping», «local public transportation» and «cleanliness of streets»). As of 2018 Tokyo ranked as the 2nd-most expensive city for expatriates, according to the Mercer consulting firm. and also the worlds 11th-most expensive city according to the Economist Intelligence Units cost-of-living survey. In 2015, Tokyo was named the Most Liveable City in the world by the magazine Monocle. The Michelin Guide has awarded Tokyo by far the most Michelin stars of any city in the world. Tokyo was ranked first out of all sixty cities in the 2017 Safe Cities Index. It was also ranked the first in the 2019 safe cities index. The QS Best Student Cities ranked Tokyo as the 3rd-best city in the world to be a university student in 2016 and 2nd in 2018. Tokyo hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics, the 1979 G-7 summit, the 1986 G-7 summit, and the 1993 G-7 summit, and will host the 2019 Rugby World Cup, the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

Japan Seaside Walk - Enoshima - My Favorite Daytrip from Tokyo! - 4K 60FPS Binaural Audio - Slow TV

A Narrated, guided tour version of this video is available at youtu.be/0P5fpZRloPk

Enoshima is one of my absolute favourite day trips from Tokyo. This little island, located just off the coast of the Pacific Ocean, is located roughly one hour from downtown Tokyo, yet has a completely different vibe than the Japanese capital. Surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean, this hilly mountains gives splendid views of the surrounding landscape, including all of Sagami Bay, as well as the Izu Peninsula and Mt. Fuji in the distance on clear days.

There are countless small restaurants on the island, serving everything from local specialities such as Shirasu-Don to curry, coffee as well as the local Enoshima brand beer.

In this video I walk from Enoshima Station on the Enoden Railway, all the way to, and across, the Island of Enoshima, passing several beautiful lookout points, shrines and temples (and cats!) on my way there.

Binaural Audio. Headphones recommended for maximum immersion.

【4K】Walking in Takasaki, Gunma prefecture

【4K】Walking in rainy Mizuho city by Clannad trail
